The World is small

Picture is of my room before the maid arrived. I'm not kidding, they have a maid who is even poorer than they are. The pecking order goes all the way up and all the way down. I added a few touches to the room, like Puffs, a clock and Hershey's kisses just to make it feel like home
My trip to and from the bus stop is about 6 blocks and on the way I pass 2 gardenia bushes. Some things are wonderful no matter where you find them. Other things are more work. This school is very difficult and I get very frustrated so I am telling myself that it will be worth it and I have to remember how much Spanish I know now that I did not know a week ago.
Guess what? One of the things I wanted to see in CR is one of the volcanos and they obliged by having one erupt yesterday. We have scheduled a trip to Arenal and Monteverde this weekend and that is where the lava is flowing. Of course, you can't get that close but we are staying at a place that has the best view according to the rep from the school who booked the trip.
I would love a Coke Zero right about now. My tico family drinks koolade for everything so you see my problem. When I go out with mi amigos I get beer or "Coke Light" which isn't the same but okay. We really take our life for granted.

  1. I think I finally figured out how to do this! It sounds like you are experiencing such amazing things...I'm envious! Graduation went well. They had 900 grads in and out in 1-1/2 hours.
I think because I've only heard about peoples trip to the resort areas of CR, I would have expected it to be cleaner. I loved the pic of the sloth. I would imagine the wildlife there is quite different.
Can't wait to see pics from the volcano and the Pacific side.
    Love ya!
